The Importance of Hiring a Great Divorce Attorney
Going through a divorce is an emotionally stressful and painful time for most people. To make the process easier to deal with, it is important to hire a good divorce lawyer, which can be an extensive, time consuming process. Plus a good divorce attorney is usually not cheap.
So where does one begin to find a good divorce lawyer? The Yellow Pages? Google? I’d recommend holding off on those as last resorts. Referrals are your best bet. Think about people you know who have gone through a divorce. Ask them about their attorney. Was their experience a positive one? Were the rates reasonable? Did they get a fair distribution of assets?
In addition, there are certain professionals that have the resources and knowledge to refer good divorce lawyers, such as doctors and therapists. You want to find a few good attorneys and get pricing from them all. Let them know that you are shopping around, and you’ll be in a good position to negotiate a better price than if you just had one choice.
Most lawyers will demand a retainer up front. They will set an hourly rate, and deduct from the retainer accordingly. Depending on how complicated your divorce is, you may have several other costs, so it is important to draw up a contract. This way, you know exactly how much you are paying and exactly what you are being charged for.
You will surely have many questions for your prospective lawyer, so it is best if you make a list of everything you want to cover during your initial consultation. This way, you ensure that you don’t leave anything important out of the conversation.
This is probably going to be one of the most difficult times of your life. Having a good lawyer on your side can help make the process smoother and less painful.
Best of luck with your situation, and may you get through it in one piece
I agree. It is best to ask your friends or families first before hiring a divorce attorney. Will surely save anyone from lots of headaches.

Hello,
I am Ms Racheal Wensday , I was married to my ex husband Fredrick Barry .And in February 2010, We mutually agreed under a Collaborative Participation Law Agreement to go our separate ways. Barry had agreed to pay me $670,000.00 under terms of the agreement so that I can settle down and to his credit; he has paid me part of the money but left with an outstanding balance
I am hereby seeking your legal assistance in helping me enforce the agreement, and have him honor the agreement in entirety.
I will be providing further information upon your request. I believe that one of the reasons he has refused to pay is because I have re-married. I understand that been remarried does not automatically void the agreement. Prior to our separation due to irreconcilable differences, we were married for 26yrs of which by his instruction, I was a full time house wife to carter for our two Kids.
He has agreed already to pay me the balance but it is my belief that a Law firm like yours is needed to help litigate this matter if he fails to pay as promised.
Sincerely,
